The project
The plans for Bekensteinselaan 18 involve converting rooms into self-contained social rental studios. There is no space for parking on the site. Omega assessed how this change of use would affect parking demand.
Parking demand following a change of use
Omega assessed parking demand from residents and visitors and compared the existing and proposed situations. The assessment considered municipal parking standards, attendance at different times and the characteristics of the intended social housing residents.
Parking away from the site
Omega also examined the options for alternative parking spaces in nearby car parks and their accessibility on foot and by bicycle. The advice sets out the conditions for a parking solution away from the site.
