For Vivium, Omega prepared the parking and mobility demand and supply assessment for the proposed refurbishment of De Bolder in Huizen. The study compares parking demand from staff and visitors with the available capacity.
The project
The proposed refurbishment of the De Bolder care facility would change both the number of residents and the number of parking spaces on the site. Vivium asked Omega to calculate car parking demand and substantiate appropriate parking standards.
Parking demand at the care facility
Omega compared the parking assumptions provided by the municipality with CROW reference figures for nursing and residential care homes. The parking assessment covers the existing and future situations, with separate consideration of staff, visitors and their attendance at different times.
Checking against actual use
Omega used parking occupancy data supplied by Vivium to compare the calculated demand with actual use of the site. The April 2024 report supports a proposal for appropriate parking standards and compares demand with the capacity after refurbishment.
