For Nyhuys, Omega surveyed parking occupancy around the proposed housing development at Violierstraat 5 in Almelo. The study establishes public parking capacity and its use at relevant times in the evening.
The project
There was no room for parking on the site of the proposed housing development at Violierstraat 5. The question was whether public parking capacity in the surrounding area could accommodate the additional demand.
Survey area and capacity
Omega agreed the survey area and times with the municipality of Almelo. Available parking spaces within the study area were recorded, including spaces that were not individually marked.
Evening parking occupancy
In January 2025, Omega carried out parking occupancy surveys on three evenings. Capacity and occupancy were recorded at each survey time and compared with the municipal threshold. Omega compared the observed situation with the additional parking demand from the housing proposal.
