For Hegeman Bouw & Infra, Omega reviewed the design of the car park at Mandemaat 3 in Assen against NEN 2443. The assessment focused on the car park’s dimensions, accessibility and usability.
The project
The government office building at Mandemaat 3 in Assen included an above-ground car park with two parking levels for staff and visitors. Hegeman Bouw & Infra commissioned Omega to review the car park design.
Design review
Omega assessed the supplied design drawings against NEN 2443, March 2013 edition. The review covered aspects including entrances and exits, queuing and buffer space, turning radii, parking bays, aisles and headroom.
Findings for further design work
The November 2024 report records findings by topic, with explanations and advice on the dimensions of the entrances and exits. It sets out the design assumptions and points requiring attention in further design work.
