For Kennedy West, Omega reviewed the design of the underground car park on Lange Zelke in Vlissingen. The commission combined design optimisation in accordance with NEN 2443 with advice on access via a vehicle lift.
A car park with a vehicle lift
An underground car park with a vehicle lift is planned for the proposed housing development on Lange Zelke. Omega examined how the layout and access would support its use as a car park for regular users.
Design and vehicle movements
Omega developed the parking layout and checked aspects including the dimensions of parking bays and aisles, turning radii and headroom. The drawing shows vehicle movements at the lift and throughout the car park.
Access and capacity
Omega also assessed the vehicle lift’s handling capacity, queuing space and the arrangements for incoming and outgoing traffic. Findings were recorded by topic in a review summary setting out the assumptions for further design work.
