A site that works well
Omega advises businesses, institutions and architects on parking, mobility and traffic at existing sites and in new plans. Hotels, healthcare facilities, event venues and business premises serve different users, each with their own arrival times and needs.
The starting point may be an extension, a shortage of parking spaces, unclear routes or a site that is not being used effectively. We review the existing situation and develop suitable options for layout, use and management.
For design questions, Omega works with the architect on the parking and traffic aspects of the plan. Omega calculates car and cycle parking demand, reviews the parking layout and helps develop solutions. The commission can be direct or coordinated with the developer or another project initiator.
Capacity and peak periods
We investigate staff and visitor parking demand and compare it with the available space. Occupancy surveys, usage data and a parking demand and supply assessment can show when problems arise and where shared use is possible.
Arrival, routes and safety
From the connection to the public road through to the entrance, we assess how cars, cyclists and pedestrians reach your site. Routes for suppliers, taxis, coaches and emergency services can also form part of the commission.
Design and layout
We design and improve surface car parks, parking garages, cycle facilities and mobility hubs. We consider a logical layout, manoeuvring space, recognisable walking routes and connections with the building and its surroundings.
Use, management and operation
A good facility also requires workable arrangements. We advise on access policy, the allocation of spaces and day-to-day management. Where necessary, we appraise different options so that costs and income can inform your decision.
